Thank you for choosing Villa Almiriki for your holiday. The following house rules form part of the Terms and Conditions for renting the property and are intended to make your stay here a trouble free and happy one.

Taking care around the house and liability
Please be aware that the house is private property and should be used respectfully. Treat our home as if it were your own. We are not liable for any personal injury or loss/damage to your belongings.
Toilet
Because of the size of the pipes in the Greek plumbing system, toilet paper and any other material must not be put down the toilet but instead placed in the basket provided next to the lavatory. Failure to do this will result in a blockage in the sewage system, and costly repair work.
In case of emergency please also contact your representative from Blend in Blue on the island.
Air Conditioning
The nicest way to keep the house cool is to keep the windows and shutters closed on the side of the house where the sun is shining, especially in the early morning from sunrise on.
In case there is wind below 5 Beaufort you can also use the sunscreens on the front of the house and in the big court.
You might sometimes want to use the air conditioning. Please always close every window in the house when you do. Normally, cooling at a temperature a few degrees below the outside temperature already provides a nice coolness. Please do not leave the air conditioning on when you are not at home or when you are asleep.
WiFi
The network is called Almiriki. The password is 2285022174. Please do not give anyone else this code.
Television
Press the on/off button using the remote control, then go to source:
There you can choose the app you prefer, like Netflix, Disney and so on. There is also an app for local television (ERT).
Radio
Our house is provided with a Sonos sound system. The Sonos app is needed to operate it. The app can be downloaded from the App store (free).
Please do not change the settings of the system but enjoy music from all over the world. In case you have a Spotify or Tidal subscription you will be able to hear music from these sources as well.

Water
The water from the tap is drinkable. We had a filter installed at the watertank down the hill and in addition a Grohe blue filter in the kitchen. If you prefer this double filtered water, please use the left knob that will show a blue light.
Due to lack of water in summer on the island please use water sparingly.
There are hoses available on the terrace and in the court. Please close the faucet after use otherwise the sprinkler could be released, and the water will not stop running.
Stove
Press down one of the four knobs on the stove and turn it to the left to start the gas flow and ignition. Hold the knob for a few seconds, otherwise the flame will go out.
Mosquitoes
Mosquitoes are a problem near water around the world and Naxos is no different. Luckily enough, Almiriki House hardly has a problem with mosquitoes. It is advisable, however, to have some repellent available just in case the one neighbourhood mosquito chooses your bedroom to spend the night.
Best help are the fly screens at every window and door.
Other unwanted guests
If you keep the kitchen completely free of food and crumbs, cockroaches won’t be attracted to the house. Once they find a food source, they can be very difficult to eliminate.
Bathrooms
Please be aware, the tiles can be slippery.
Electricity
You may experience the occasional power cut, which normally only lasts for a couple of hours before the power returns. This is a normal part of Greek island living.
Should the power not return in your house, but the neighboring houses are lit again, please check the general switch down left on the main board or, if you believe there is a problem with the electrical system, please contact Blend in Blue.
Windows, shutters and sunscreens
During the hot summer months Naxos is cooled by the prevailing northerly wind. Often it can be very strong and can cause the shutters and windows to smash. Please make sure that the open shutters, doors and windows are fixed at all times to prevent damage.
Cleaning
The house will be cleaned to a high standard prior to your arrival.
The property should be left in generally the same condition and tidiness as on arrival.
Failure to do this may result in extra cleaning and remediation costs which will be deducted from your security deposit.
Rubbish disposal
It is your responsibility to place any rubbish in the local council refuse bins. Please dispose of your rubbish at least once a day.
One bin is on the road down our property, going down, somewhat to the left.
Beach
Kleftonisia beach, which you will find at the foot of the hill on your left can be reached via the property of Naxos Magic Village hotel to the left. The beautiful and long beach of Prokopios is only a 3 minutes’ ride to the right.

General
In the low season, most shops are closed between 3 and 6 p.m. The big supermarkets don’t close during those hours.
Banks are opened until 2 or 3 p.m. Cash machines can be found on the boulevard and at the far end of Papavasiliou Avenue in Ηora, and in Agios Prokopios and Agia Anna.
